As your usual introvert, I rarely go out at night for clubbing, bars and whatnot maybe because I already have an inkling of what is out there – overpriced drinks, bland food, and rowdy people. Thus, I’d rather curl up, stay warm at home and watch Youtube videos. Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot about this new place at General Luna Road, the 2600 Gastropub. And finally, I am very lucky to have interviewed and learn about the science and passion behind this restaurant.
True to its name, the 2600 Gastropub is a place for good drinks and delicious food. What is amazing about them is that they use local products here in the Cordilleras. In this way, I feel that they are unique and it would be a difficult challenge to imitate the taste of their food. Moreover, they follow the “farm to table” concept that is almost a rarity nowadays (Go Organic!). Foodies like me are surely in for a treat because they create a whole new food dimension that is definitely out-of-this-world.
I highly recommend their Crispy Pork Cutlets that are bomb af, the flavors dance around your tongue and makes you eat more. Moreover, their specialties also include the Smoked Bacon and Sausages, you might want to ask the chef what kind of wood chips do they use to smoke the bacon (which is a surprise). On the other hand, 2600 Gastropub have their very own beers which are the 2600 Beer and Caramel and as a lady (hehe) I do appreciate yummy beers that are sweet and refreshing.
On the whole, everything you could possibly look for in a bar and a restaurant is in 2600 Gastropub – great food, great drinks, lively atmosphere, friendly staff and cozy interior. 2600 Gastropub takes your regular Saturday night to a whole new level. I would rate this place a 10 out of 10. They are open from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM. They also accept reservations for the special events in your life.
